Handwoven Chestnut Bark Basket

This contemporary basket is handcrafted in Japan using strips of natural chestnut tree bark.

Each strip is carefully harvested, hand-peeled, soaked to restore its flexibility, and woven by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Although newly made, it reflects the timeless craftsmanship of Japanese basket making.

Lightweight yet durable, it is suitable for everyday use and will develop a rich patina with age. Each basket is handmade, making every piece unique with natural variations in color and texture.
